El número de pasajeros de cruceros que han transitado por los puertos de Tenerife en los últimos años se ha incrementado de manera global y supera la cifra de 848.159 cruceristas en el 2014. Queda patente la importancia de las infraestructuras portuarias para el desarrollo del sector y la necesidad de ofertar unos servicios turísticos locales adaptados a las tendencias del mercado de los cruceros. Los propios armadores siguen apostando por el destino Canarias y señalan que la disparidad de destinos dentro de las islas supone una nueva oportunidad de potenciar la visita de pasajeros a Tenerife.
De la mano de las propias navieras, consignatarios y tour operadores de cruceros, TENERIFE CRUISE FORUM tratará de presentar las oportunidades de negocio que el tráfico de cruceros puede suponer para Tenerife y Canarias. El debate se centrará en cómo se ha preparado el puerto, la industria auxiliar, el destino en sí mismo y los servicios turísticos para garantizar la satisfacción del nuevo crucerista, proporcionar conocimiento sobre una industria que estimula las economías de los destinos de cruceros y ahondar en las claves de la desestacionalización del sector.
TENERIFE CRUISE FORUM es un evento dirigido a los profesionales del sector portuario, industria auxiliar, agencias de viaje, instituciones relacionadas con la promoción turística, así como gestores de servicios hoteleros, guías, restaurantes, museos, taxis, comercios y en general aquellos servicios que puedan beneficiarse de la llegada de pasajeros de cruceros a Tenerife y que puedan beneficiarse de esta forma vacacional.

Carlos Alonso Rodríguez, nació en Santa Cruz de Tenerife accediendo a la presidencia del Cabildo con 43 años de edad. Su formación académica, tras licenciarse en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universidad de La Laguna en la especialidad de Economía General, está marcada por la excelencia con el Premio Extraordinario Fin de Carrera y Segundo Premio Nacional de Terminación de Estudios. Cuenta además con un máster en Estudios Europeos por el Colegio de Brujas. Ha sido profesor asociado del Departamento de Economía Aplicada de La Universidad de La Laguna. Su especial conocimiento sobre la economía canaria le ha llevado a dirigir varias jornadas y seminarios sobre el régimen de integración de Canarias en la Unión Europea y publicar varios trabajos sobre este mismo asunto.
Alonso ha desempeñado diversos cargos en las administraciones autonómica e insular, como director general de Asuntos Económicos con la Unión Europea del Ejecutivo autónomo, director general de Ganadería, viceconsejero de Agricultura del Gobierno de Canarias. Entra en el Cabildo de Tenerife en 2001 como jefe de Proyectos de Presidencia y trabajar junto al presidente Ricardo Melchior en importantes iniciativas como el Plan de Ganadería o el Tranvía del Área Metropolitana.
En 2003 se traslada a Bruselas para desempeñar el cargo de administrador de la Unidad de Regiones Ultraperiféricas de la Dirección General de Política Regional de la Comisión Europea.
Carlos Alonso fue consejero del Cabildo desde el año 2007 al frente del Área de Economía y Competitividad, donde ha promovido proyectos claves para la Isla como el tranvía del Área Metropolitana, los trenes del Norte y del Sur o el proyecto ALiX, que situará a Tenerife como lugar estratégico de las comunicaciones a nivel mundial. Como consejero de Economía también ha trabajado en importantes acciones para la promoción económica de la Isla en estrecha colaboración con otras entidades como la Cámara de Comercio, Zona Especial Canaria (ZEC), Zona Franca y Autoridad Portuaria a través de una iniciativa pionera de promoción conjunta bajo la marca "Why Tenerife?".
En el año 2011 asumió, además, una vicepresidencia del Cabildo y las materias de Movilidad y Turismo, desde donde ha centrado su esfuerzo en incrementar la competitividad del destino con la renovación de la estrategia turística y, especialmente, en mejorar la conectividad aérea.

Alessandro Carollo started his career in shipping almost 15 years ago, as a port agent for many kinds of ships such as ferries, cruises, dry bulk carriers and tankers. After a 7-year career in the port of Venice, he then moved to Inchcape Shipping Services to run their Hub office in Lugano, Switzerland providing a wide variety of centralized shipping agency services for some 3000 port calls/year worldwide (mainly north and south Europe). Within the same company he then moved back to Venice to take control of an operations team of 15 people, managing some 8000+ port calls a year both on the operational and financial perspective, where he could manage the selection and appointment of port agents, implement new procedures and policies and ensuring clients’ KPIs were met, leading as well a team of dedicated staff to control all the invoices coming from the local agents. He then got more responsibilities in his new role as General Manager of sales in Italy, where he was in charge to generate and maintain new customer relationships as well as perform market analysis and studies aimed at the acquisition/establishment of other companies in Italy and other Adriatic Countries.
Alessandro is now in charge of port operations for the three U.S. brands of RCCL (AZA, CEL & RCI) and his main goals are achieving operational excellence, improved profitability and guest satisfaction as well as identify and develop new destinations in the Mediterranean and Black Sea.

Carla Salvadό started working at the Port of Barcelona in 1992, and first involved in the cruise industry in 2003. She has worked for 3 years as Secretary General of MedCruise, and served its BoD in subsequent years. She is now the Marketing and Cruise Manager of the Port of Barcelona. She has studied Economics and Business Management at the Pompeu Fabra University and ESADE Business School.

Airam Díaz is the Commercial Manager of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife which manages five cruise ports. In 2011, he joined the Port Authority after his position as Commercial Executive of Grimaldi Group and other companies related to the maritime and logistic business. He has a master degree in Law and Maritime Business by the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya and a Bachelor of Science, International Trade and Marketing by the University of Wales. His wide range of responsibilities in the Port Authority are related to different maritime business areas such as cruises, bunker services, container terminals, marinas, offshore and oil platforms, logistic services… He is an active member of the ESPO Passenger Committee and of the Medcruise Board of Directors besides his work in the Cruises in the Atlantic Islands association to promote the Canary and Madeira Islands area as a cruise destination. Actually, he is really involved in the Tenerife New Cruise Terminal construction that will be ready in November 2015 to improve the deployment in the islands.

Emiliano González is the Managing Director of MSC Cruises in Spain and was born in Madrid. He studied "Director of Tourism Enterprises" at the Official School of Tourism in Madrid. His career has always been linked to the tourism sector beginning in 1967 in the historic CHAT Travel Agency , where he remained until 1980. Subsequently, he held various management positions at agencies such as Icab Travel, Atlanta Travel, Vincit, Mapfre, over a period of 22 years. Emiliano joined MSC Cruises in 2002 as its Commercial Director. In 2004, he became Managing Director of the company in Spain.

Virginia Lopez Valiente is the owner and Managing Director of Cruises News Media Group, a company dedicated to communication, marketing and promotion of the Cruise industry.
Cruises News Media Group edits the magazine Cruises News and organises annually the International Cruise Summit, the Cruise Excellence Awards, Cruise Forums and Cruise Trainings.
Virginia has spent most of her two-decade career leading departments of commercial, marketing and operations in international companies of various sectors such as transport, hospitality and consultancy.
Before founding Cruises News Media Group, she held various managerial posts in companies such as DHL, Panalpina Global Transport, Air Express International, Thomas International and IPS Consultants and was Director of Operations for Spain and Portugal at Hospitality Marketing Concepts, an American multinational of marketing and loyalty programs for luxury hotels and chains.
She has a degree in Business Administration, International Trade and Marketing and completed her executive program (PGD) in Marketing Management and Strategic Management at the British School of Management Sciences in London.
Virginia is the publisher and editor of Cruises News (the magazine) following on from the pioneering work by the founder of the magazine and the company.

Marcus Puttich, a certified ship agent by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, started his career in the port agency department of Biehl & Company in the ports of Houston and New York. Before joining TUI Cruises in January 2014, Marcus received the degree Bachelor of Arts in Cruise Industry Management from the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and graduated with a Master of Science with Distinction in Maritime Operations from the Liverpool John Moores University.

Luis the Carvalho is the Managing Partner of B&A Europe, which was formed in October 2013 resulting from a merger between port and destination development firm Consult DC and US cruise and maritime architecture firm Bermello Ajamil and partners (B&A).
B&A Europe is currently involved on several projects involving Northern European, Danish, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean and West African regions.
Luis started his career in 1986 with Premier Cruise Lines and RCCL in Miami. He then spent 12 years with Crystal Cruises, being their LA based Corporate Port Coordinator overseeing shore side operations globally while inspecting new ports and destinations.
From 2005 on he served as: National Director Cruise Operations in Ultramar Express / TUI Spain based in Barcelona, Director of Cruise Operations in Tumlare Corporation and Director of Cruise Operations in Kuoni Destination Management based in Copenhagen.
After gathering knowledge and experience from all angles of the industry he started his own consulting firm Consult DC in 2009 to better serve the global cruise community.
Luis is also a regular organizer, speaker and moderator of international conferences, cruise seminars and workshops.

Deborah was born near Nottingham, UK and now lives in Barcelona, Spain. After receiving a degree in Drama & English at the age of twenty, Deborah set up a theatre company with several colleagues and toured the UK working on theatre in education projects. Deborah commenced her commercial career just a few years later with a leading FMCG company. Deborah has held different senior Commercial, Training and Marketing roles in the UK and throughout Europe.
In 2011 Deborah joined Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services as part of the Barcelona operations team. Since then Deborah has been responsible for different departments and is now heading up the Product team for the Mediterranean.

Javier joined Pullmantur in 2011. Javier heads the Itinerary Planning & Route Economic Area for Pullmantur Cruises and Croisières de France since 2014. As such, he is responsible for strategy, development, refinement and maintenance of the unique portfolio of cruise products for Pullmantur and Croisières de France, brands of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the world's second largest cruise company. He leads the Product Managers team to develop the worldwide product portfolio strategy for each brand and market, as well as building the commercial strategy for each product and delivering solutions that will drive profitability improvement throughout an improved portfolio. Areas of focus include revenue enhancement, cost reduction, enhanced operational efficiency, and performance enhancement.
Prior to that, Javier was the Head the Corporate Strategy & strategic Project Management Office at Pullmantur, where he was in charge of development and execution of the Company’s strategic plan, assessing international markets opportunities and deploying customized go-to-market strategies to capture share in target markets, as well as managing the worldwide itinerary planning strategy.
Prior to joining to Pullmantur, Javier developed his career in the strategic consulting industry, leading projects on Strategy, Finance, Sales & Marketing areas in highly challenging industries. Javier worked at Deloitte and Accenture, being a founder member of the Travel & Leisure industry practice. He also worked at the M&A firm Ambers & Co, a spin-off of Arthur Andersen.

Mi trabajo consiste en la comercialización de los vuelos Especiales (charter) de la compañía Iberia, L.A.E. por un lado.
Por otra parte estoy al frente de un equipo de profesionales que tienen como objetivo el desarrollo de la intermodalidad entre Iberia y otras compañías y adicionalmente la creamos y desarrollamos productos de valor añadido al transporte de pasajeros. Embarco con Iberia, Bus&fly, Rail&fly, Web link, son algunos de los proyectos en los que estamos involucrados. Recientemente hemos iniciado la comercialización de los segmentos terrestres de ferrocarril conectados con los vuelos intercontinentales de Iberia, gracias a un acuerdo intermodal con 9B (comercializador en España de los Segmentos terrestres de RENFE)
Por otra parte, desarrollamos productos que permitan crecer en segmentos de negocio como tráficos de VFR, MARINOS, RELIGIOSO, etc....
Nuestra área de desarrollo de negocio tiene una amplia experiencia en el transporte de pasajeros relacionados con el turismo de cruceros. Durante el año 2014 transportamos en vuelos chárter de Iberia a pasajeros de PULLMANTUR, COSTA CRUCEROS Y MSC con el objetivo de conectarlos a las salidas de los barcos de estas compañías en Europa. Mas de 200 operaciones serán realizadas durante el año 2015 en este segmento de negocio por parte de Iberia. La conectividad y el desarrollo de sinergias con las cruceristas mas importantes del mundo es un objetivo de mi Unidad.

Cyril is also the managing director of Traktek Partners, a digital marketing agency specializing in helping travel & tourism clients implement marketing campaigns to drive lead generation, new passenger bookings, and traveler loyalty.
Cyril's team has helped numerous deluxe and small ship cruise lines successfully enter the US market & grow market share including Scenic Cruises, Emerald Waterways, Vantage Deluxe World Travel, Paul Gauguin Cruises, Blount Small Ship Adventures, Variety Cruises and Croisi-Europe by providing outsourced marketing, sales, and operations.

Stephanie Wear is the Director of Economic Development of the Tenerife Tourism Corporation since 2012. Under her purview, she is responsible for air service development and attracting foreign direct investment to the island as well as promoting Tenerife as a leisure destination. The top priority of her department is to work with airports, airlines and corporations to create business opportunities on the island and increase the number of tourists that visit Tenerife.
Before her job at the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, she worked in the Foreign Trade Department of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife where she specialized in International Procurement and European Union projects. During that time, she was named as one of three Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLO) of the World Bank in Spain. Previous to that position she had her own import company in the United States.
Born in Washington DC, Stephanie lived most of her life in the US before moving to Tenerife, Spain, eight years ago. Her dual nationality and cross-cultural background has been the main motivator for her line of work.

Mike retired from Air Canada in 2014 after a career of over thirty years with the airline. During his years with the airline he held key positions in Network Planning, Scheduling, Strategy, and Revenue Management.
Over the course of his career Mike was instrumental in the planning and launch of many successful new Air Canada routes. In his Network Planning role, he managed the airline’s international route schedule and was responsible for optimising network profitability. In 2002 he led a project to raise Air Canada’s profile in the sun and leisure markets, working together with Air Canada Vacations to successfully launch nine new routes and increasing capacity in the airline’s Caribbean/Mexico markets by 40%. He also has many years of experience in fleet planning, traffic and revenue forecasting, marketing, yield management, and aircraft scheduling.
After his retirement from Air Canada Mike immigrated to the U.K. and joined Airport Strategy & Marketing (ASM) as a Senior Consultant. ASM is the consulting division of Routes and is a UBM company. They are world leaders in route development and specialise in engaging with airlines to help airports and their destination stakeholders attract new air services for their airport, city and region. In his current role Mike provides route development expertise to ASM’s clients across the globe.
